The program

A thoughtful start to the craft.

Explore the foundations of professional body piercing and the values that support responsible practice.

Why choose us

Learn where the work really happens

Most programs teach piercing in a classroom. Here, you train inside a working tattoo shop and learn the craft the way it is actually practiced.

Learn inside a working shop

Training takes place in a real tattoo and piercing studio, so you see how clients are greeted, screened, pierced, and cared for every day.

Real-world workflow

Sterilization, setup, paperwork, and breakdown are part of the routine, not a classroom exercise. You build habits you will use on the job.

Mentorship from working professionals

Learn alongside an award-winning piercer and artists who live this craft, with feedback grounded in real client situations.

Built around RIDoH licensing

The curriculum is shaped around Rhode Island Department of Health requirements, from required certifications through exam prep.

What the program is

Three months to get licensed

The RI Body Piercing Academy program is a focused, three-month pathway that takes you from the fundamentals of safety and sterilization to confident, responsible piercing practice.

Along the way you earn the certifications the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDoH) requires and prepare for the licensing exam.
